I hope things are well with all of you as Fall has finally arrived! Our band members, administration, and Band Boosters are excited for Alumni Band once again this year. Thank you for taking the time to fill out the short Google Survey by clicking the button.

In this e-mail, I also hope to clarify and answer a few of the questions that have come up as well as provide you with the music needed.

Timeline:

1. Thursday October 18th--Rehearsal in the Champion High School Band room from 7:00pm-8:00pm. We will be rehearsing the music and going over logistics for the following evening.

 2. Friday October 19th--Champion High School Band members arrive and Champion Alumni Band members arrive at 4:40pm. Rehearsal with CHS Marching at the Football Stadium 4:50pm. The marching band will be making a "C H S" on the field; Alumni Band members will rehearse "ABC" with the CHS Marching Thunder. After this combined rehearsal, Alumni Band members are free to be on break while the marching band finishes up their rehearsal and gets changed into their uniforms.

 3. 2018 Homecoming Parade--Step-Off at 6:15pm from High School and march to Football Stadium. Alumni Band will march down to the football stadium to the O.S.U Drum Cadence Provided and play the Fight Song and Hang On Sloopy while marching. The marching band will march around the track leading the homecoming parade and then line up on the field for pregame at 6:35pm. Alumni Band members will need to make their way to the Band Shell for pregame. If you have or know a student that may be on the 2018 Homecoming Court, you WILL be able to watch the ceremony during pregame, as you will not be on the field.

 4. Halftime--Alumni Band will assemble on the Home sideline. After the CHS Marching Band performs "ELVIS Medley" and forms "C H S," Alumni Band members come onto the field. Alumni Band will be recognized and will then perform "ABC" with the CHS Marching Band.

 5. During the football game, the Alumni Band is encouraged to play the various stand tunes provided, "Hang On Sloopy" and "Gimme Some Lovin" with the CHS Marching Band.

 6. 3rd Quarter--While the CHS Band has the 3rd quarter off, there has been interest in having the Alumni Band perform at the home sideline during the 3rd quarter. This is encouraged and permitted! Details will be discussed at Thursday's rehearsal.

 7. 4th Quarter--Perform with CHS Marching Band in the stands, socialize with one another or leave. At the conclusion of the game ,the Alumni Band is permitted to march back to the band room with the CHS Marching Band to put instruments away and gather belongings.

I appreciate all of your help and support with Alumni Band. It is going to truly be a special and exciting evening for Alumni, current Marching Band students, Directors, Band Boosters and the School District!
