Central Elementary students have a very special group of adults looking out for them. Central's CARE CREW Council was formed to assist in keeping Central students safe while promoting positive student conduct through appropriate role modeling.
Every school day at entrance and dismissal, CARE CREW volunteers greet parents and students as they arrive at school, assisting them into the building and encouraging students to have a great day. The volunteers also serve as "extra eyes" to all the coming and going of students and adults at the beginning of the school day.
All Council members are Champion residents, graduates of Champion, or have relatives currently attending Champion Central (grandchildren). Mrs. Nannicola, Central’s Principal facilitates the council.
The CARE CREW has made a huge impact at Central by also acting as greeters at community and parent events. Students also enjoy the privilege of working as “Care Crew Assistants” when they earn the title of Student of the Month. This council has truly imbedded itself as part of the Central community. The Council hopes other retirees will join them to make it possible to expand their service to students on the playground and lunchroom. For more information on the CARE CREW please contact Mrs. Nannicola, Central Principal at 330-847-2328.
