ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE - FIRST PRIORITY OF CHAMPION SCHOOL DISTRICT
To maintain the District’s high quality of student learning the Champion Board of Education has invested in the following learning tools for the 2018-19 school year.
DISTRICT
• 400 additional Chromebooks purchased to outfit every student in K-3 and 9-12 with a Chromebook. Cost approximately $ 400,000 which concludes a two year project for the District to provide a 1-1 program for students K-12. Last year students in grades 4-8 received Chromebooks on a 1-1 arrangement.
• Full time School Resource Officer position instituted to serve the K-12 campus- District cost of $ 34,000
a year.
• Purchase of two new school buses, critical to maintaining a safe and reliable fleet for student transportation. One bus paid through grant award. A school bus costs about $ 75,000.
CHS:
• CHS receiving new French and Algebra textbooks. Books may be ordered as e-books to be
used with computers rather than purchased in a traditional textbook format at a cost of $ 30,000.
CMS:
• CMS science will receive a new e-science program (electronic format) costing $ 26,000.
• STEM lab serving grades 5-8 is receiving a new web program for expanded learning opportunities at a cost of $ 5.000.
CES:
• CES receiving reading and math textbooks-cost is about $ 16,000.
• Part time Assistant Principal Position extended to full time. Position continues to serve both
Champion Elementary and Champion Middle School populations -additional cost of $ 35,000.
