Retire flags with respect
In 2015 Joseph White, of Champion, introduced his Eagle Scout project to the community at the 2015 Champion Rotary Memorial Day Parade. His project was to create a box where worn flags may be placed for proper retirement. This box is now available for public use at the Township Cemetery. The flag represents so much to the public. The respectful treatment of flags that are not appropriate to be flown anymore is very important. This receptacle makes it possible for the people to deposit their flag and know that it will be disposed of properly. Another great community service activity supported by the Champion Fire Department who periodically disposes of those flags placed in the box.
