NEW Rotary Memorial Day Parade route for Champion

The Rotary Club of Champion Memorial Day Commemoration will be held on May 29. This is an amazing event including a parade, music and solemn service honoring the men and women who have guarded our freedom and paid the ultimate price.
This year participants will:
1. Meet at St. William Church, 5431 Mahoning Ave, NO LATER THAN 8 a.m.,
2. ENTER the SOUTH drive only.
3. The parade will then EXIT from the NORTH drive promptly at 9 a.m.
4. The parade will proceed north on Mahoning Ave past St. Rt. 305
5. The parade will enter the Mahoning Ave entrance of the Township Cemetery (across from Central Elementary School)
Although there is a celebratory atmosphere associated with this community event, there is also a solemn aspect to the day.
To ensure proper respect for the duality of the occasion please adhere to these directives:
•Candy is welcome but we ask that it only be distributed on Mahoning Avenue. NO CANDY will be thrown in the cemetery in order to prepare for the solemnity of the service and respect the nature of the service portion of the event. Spectators who want candy please secure your spot on Mahoning Avenue.
• No sirens will be sounded during the parade at any point.
• The parade is open to public participants; however participants may not distribute or display political materials (i.e. VOTE FOR CANDIDATE/ISSUE) or any other inappropriate or disruptive materials/floats.
