Parade/Service Regulations

Although there is a celebratory atmosphere associated with this community event, there is also a solemn aspect to the day. To ensure proper respect for the duality of the occasion please adhere to these directives:


  • NO CANDY IN THE CEMETERY - Candy is welcome but we ask that it only be distributed on Mahoning Avenue. NO CANDY will be thrown in the cemetery in order to prepare for the solemnity of the service and respect the nature of the service portion of the event. Spectators who want candy please secure your spot on Mahoning Avenue. 
  • PLEASE NO CONFETTI OR SILLY STRING. 
  • NO SIRENS will be sounded during the parade at any point.
  • NO POLITICAL MATERIALS The parade is open to public participants; however participants may not distribute or display political materials (i.e. VOTE FOR CANDIDATE/ISSUE).


Whether you are a participant or a spectator please make sure you keep the area clean and litter free as a sign of respect of this important community event and those service men and women whom we are commemorating.
