Club president John E. Hickey recently announced his selection for the 2018 Rotarian of the Year: Cheryl Knowlton. Chief Hickey shared that choosing the Rotarian of the Year can be a difficult. However, this year was probably one of the easiest choices to make. His criteria on choosing the recipient was not based on meeting attendance, or donations to the Rotary foundation. It was based on what does this member provide to the club, but more importantly to the Champion community? Cheryl Knowlton is someone who does nothing but put her heart and soul into whatever project in which she is involved.
Cheryl, through her commitment to club service projects has enhanced Rotary events such as Pancake Breakfasts and Cookies with Santa project. She facilitates the Champion High School Interact Showcase Committee which is a staple of the organization. Cheryl also creates a comprehensive scrapbook of the many activities and service events in which the Rotary Club of Champion coordinate and support throughout the year.
