SCOPE Senior Services is looking for anyone over 50 who might be interested in being part of the SCOPE’s “We Are Off Our Rockers” parade dance team. We will need men and women who want to get some exercise and enjoy walking and dancing as a unit in various parades throughout the year. Even seniors who use walkers and those in wheelchairs are welcome. 

Last year, over 25 individuals from ages 50 to 92 took part in the SCOPE Senior Citizen Parade Team and were the highlight of many parades in our area line dancing to the song “Sweet Caroline” by Neil Diamond.  

The “We Are Off Our Rockers” team plans to participate in parades from Memorial Day to Veteran’s Day. Practices are held each Friday at Noon at the Warren Senior Citizen Center gymnasium located at the YWCA at 375 N. Park Ave in Warren. This year SCOPE is excited to have one of our dance instructors Pat Lumpkin design and teach simple dance moves which will move our seniors down the parade routes.  

Many senior citizens play sports, work out, dance, and participate in fitness programs, so why not get some exercise and have fun showing off at various parades in the area. Maybe SCOPE can change the perception that all seniors are too old to move, dance or walk.
