PRESS RELEASE: Champion Trustees address ongoing issue
The Champion Township Board of Trustees are hesitant to make a statement regarding an ongoing issue concerning Trumbull County Sanitary Engineers and the City of Warren but would be remiss to not inform the community of our awareness and concern regarding this issue.
As with any negotiations it is inherent that both parties spar over specifics and through good faith negotiating ultimately arrive at an agreement that both can agree upon. We certainly hope that this will be the case regarding this agreement.
We feel it unfortunate that negotiations have recently played out in the press which only serves towards alienating both sides even further. We certainly urge both sides back to the negotiating table and ask the principles in this disagreement to negotiate in good faith and consider the interests of not only Champion Township Sewer customers but also those customers in Howland Township and the Village of Lordstown.
Trustees Chairman Rex Fee is drawing on his previous experience in drafting a resolution to be presented to the Board at the June meeting calling for a fair and equitable agreement between parties, taking into account our interests as a party in this agreement.
We will continue to closely monitor this issue and continue to promote the concerns of the residents of Champion.
