Champion Speech Members Compete At OHSSL State Finals

Six members of the Champion Speech Team qualified to compete at the Ohio High School Speech League state finals held in Olmsted Falls, OH in March.
Students qualified in their individual events by competing at the Youngstown District tournament held in Canfield, Ohio on Feb 4.
State qualifiers and event category include: Juniors Erin Goebel, Original Oratory and Nic Lilly, Program Oral Interpretation; Seniors Kyle Shaffer and Jaclyn Mulvain, Duo Interpretation, Samantha Bennett, Program Oral Interpretation and Teraysa Craig, Declamation.
This sets a new team record for qualifiers sent to the OHSSL state finals. In addition, it marks the second state finals appearance for Shaffer, Mulvain and Craig. Champion Speech is coached by James Sheldon who is assisted by Jay Sheldon and Kayla Medzie.
